The word
Apricity
apricity (n.) — the warmth of the sun in winter. An obscure English word, and the whole idea: light found inside the cold, not brightness for its own sake.
Most things worth having are built in the cold months, quietly, with nobody watching. Apricity is for that stretch — the work you do before anything shows. Warmth is not the absence of winter. It is what you find in the middle of it.
